Canada United Small Business Relief Fund

The #CanadaUnited campaign's objective is to encourage Canadians to support local businesses.


This national campaign provides grants up to $5000 to help businesses recover from additional expenses incurred due to COVID-19.


As a result of the pandemic, many businesses incur additional costs from purchasing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), renovating space to comply with new governement guidelines, and increasing the use and capabilities of e-commerce.

  • purchasing masks, face shields, gloves, sanitizing supplies, etc.

  • installing plexiglass

  • physically blocking off areas and reduce use of spaces to maintain safe physical distancing

  • expanding and improving digital/virtual presence to reduce physical contact


Eligibility:

  • one application per ownership group

  • small to medium-sized businesses

  • cannot be Government organizatons, municipalities, charities, and the chamber of commerce network

  • 75 employees or less

  • annual sales between $200,000 and $3,000,000

  • have $1,000,000 of commercial general liability insurance

  • full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines

  • in operation after September 1, 2020


Required Documents

  • all necessary invoices and receipts

  • one of the following documents (dated prior to March 1, 2020):

1. proof of business registration

2. sales tax (GST/HST) registration

3. recent sales tax (GST/HST) filing
